At Dusk Restaurant & Bar, the private dining room is defined by a balance of materiality, atmosphere, and function. Applied to the main wall in Pebble [CM08], Klar™ Grooves introduce a textured, geometric surface that sits naturally within the interior language of the space. Beyond its visual presence, the precision-engineered panel system helps manage sound reflections from the room’s hard surfaces, supporting a more comfortable setting for focused discussions and private dining.

Acoustic wall panels forming a refined textured surface within private dining room

Recognised for its panoramic sunset views over Singapore, Dusk offers a dining experience shaped by atmosphere, setting, and thoughtful detail. Its private dining room is designed to serve two distinct purposes, supporting both intimate celebrations and more formal corporate gatherings.

In a space like this, comfort goes beyond the visual experience. When conversations are central to the way the room is used, acoustic comfort becomes an important part of how the space feels. For discussions that matter, whether personal or professional, the environment should support clear and effortless conversation without distraction from excessive sound reflections.

The room is designed with a clean and refined aesthetic, shaped by large glass windows and hard interior surfaces that contribute to its open visual character. At the same time, these materials also influence how sound moves within the space, allowing reflections to build more easily.

During private events or business dinners, this could make conversations less comfortable to follow, especially when multiple guests were speaking. Voices would carry and overlap more easily, creating a space that felt visually composed, but less resolved acoustically. Over time, this could also affect listening comfort and the sense of privacy expected in a more exclusive setting.

The approach focused on improving sound comfort without disrupting the restaurant’s interior character.

Klar™ Grooves in Pebble [CM08] were integrated directly into the wall design, allowing the acoustic treatment to feel considered as part of the space rather than added on afterwards. The selected finish complements the room’s material palette while introducing a subtle surface rhythm across the wall. The groove pattern also helps reduce the visual prominence of panel edges, allowing the installation to read as a more cohesive architectural surface.

From a distance, the installation reads as a cohesive architectural feature. Up close, the precision-cut grooves add texture and help manage sound reflections, contributing to a setting that feels more balanced acoustically while remaining warm, refined, and appropriate for private dining.

Result

The private dining room now brings together visual refinement and improved acoustic comfort.

With reflections better managed, conversations are easier to follow during both private dining and more focused discussions.

The space remains elegant and cohesive, supporting a more comfortable and considered experience for guests.
