What we don’t notice often shapes how a space feels.
At Bartley Christian Church, acoustic panels were installed across ceilings and walls, adapting to the existing conditions of each space.
White panels were used throughout, keeping the overall look consistent while allowing the treatment to sit naturally within the interior.

Bartley Christian Church supports a range of activities, from larger gatherings to smaller group sessions and everyday use.
The spaces are flexible and used frequently, often shifting between different functions within the same environment.
In settings like these, comfort and clarity need to work across different uses.
The project was carried out across multiple areas.
Phase 1
- Ceiling in a large multi-purpose room
- Wall treatment in the pantry
Phase 2
- Ceiling treatment in two additional multi-purpose rooms
Across all spaces, Klar™ Essentials in Snow [CM01] were used to maintain a consistent visual language.

The ceilings were not flat, uninterrupted surfaces.

Existing elements such as air-conditioning units, lighting and access panels were already in place, creating multiple interruptions across the ceiling.
Each of these conditions had to be worked around carefully.
With white panels, even slight misalignment becomes visible. The challenge was to keep the surface looking clean and consistent, while adapting to these constraints.
Instead of forcing a uniform layout, the panels were fitted to follow the existing ceiling conditions.
Each piece was measured and adjusted to align with surrounding elements, allowing the installation to sit naturally within the space.
The focus was on maintaining continuity across the surface, even where the ceiling itself was not continuous.

The panels form part of the ceiling rather than sitting apart from it.
Despite the number of interruptions, the overall surface reads as consistent and balanced.
The result is simple in appearance, but carefully resolved in detail.
Echo is reduced, improving clarity during both larger gatherings and smaller group discussions.
The spaces feel more comfortable to use, without changing how they look.
Across ceilings and walls, the panels sit within the interior as a consistent and unobtrusive layer.
In spaces like this, what often goes unnoticed requires the most consideration.
Working around existing ceiling elements means adapting to what is already there, rather than imposing a fixed solution.
At Klar™, we believe acoustic treatment should integrate naturally into a space — responding to its conditions, while supporting how it is used.
